Presidents

Hey guys,
here's the president song (its sung to the tune of yankee doddle dandy). I hope it helps!

Washington was first and then came
Adams and Tom Jefferson
Madison, Monroe and Adams
Jackson and Van Buren

Harrison, Tyler, Polk and Taylor
Fillmore, Pierce, Buchanan
Lincoln, Johnson, Grant and Hayes and
Garfield ruled the land then

Arthur was the 21st and
22 was Cleveland
Harrison was 23 and
back came President Cleveland

McKinley and then Roosevelt
Taft and Woodrow Wilson
Harding and then Coolidge and then
maybe someday you can.

Hoover, swept by Roosevelt,
Who died and Truman stepped in.
Eisenhower followed him
And Kennedy then leapt in.

Upon whose death L. Johnson ruled
But soon succumbed to Nixon,
Who abdicated off to Ford,
Then Carter (Georgia hick)'s in.

Ronald Reagan vanquished Carter;
Bush, his Veep, came on, sir.
Billy Clinton took two terms
Then Bush – so ends my song, sir.

Quotes

I found this page with some Lincoln quotes: some look pretty easy to memorize. There are more famous American quotes at the bottom. I hope this is helpful. And I love cats.

Welcome!

As decided upon in class, we have created this blog to keep track of our homework assignments, to remind us of our test dates, and to exchange ideas, resources, and opinions on what we are studying. As inconvenient as meeting up in person can be, we, the scholarly and academically curious students of Ms. Scharf's A.P.U.S.H. class, will always have this handy-dandy blog to fall back on. Even though some of what I just said was bogus, we can not resist the powers of the blog.

So, as I told you in your email, you will need to accept the invitation from this blog (in a separate email also sent to you) in order to be able to post stuff and comment on other posts. If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me at natebessa[@]gmail.com (remove []'s please: it's a cautionary step against deadly spam).

Use this blog to post anything you want that is at least somewhat relevant to History and our History class. As cute as your cats may be, try to focus on posting things that your classmates actually care about. I do not have cats, as you can probably tell. I suggest posting any links you find of useful websites, thoughts you have over projects, questions you may have about what we are learning that you want people to discuss, and possibly even some humorous jokes you may have to bring back what is known as a social life to us.

Thanks,
Nate B.

P.S. Here are all of our emails in case we need to get in contact with one another. If you wish for me to remove your last name (even though for most of us our last name is in our email address):
- Ms. Jennifer Scharf - jenniferscharf@gmail.com
- Nate B. - natebessa@gmail.com
- Adam Formica - adamformica@gmail.com
- Alisa Peterson - alisapeterson@rcn.com
- Leah Feinberg - backflipgirl91@rcn.com

- John & Matt coming soon.
